Augustine Avonleigh Corey

Huge name with even a larger shoes to fill. The Corey’s is a historical name though not as well noted as some of that appear in European Wizarding worlds. But the Corey’s are well known in the United States where most of their family resides from. Do a bit of probing in their linage it will be found that they first immigrated to the United States by force in the middle in the late of 1500, their immigration brought on a change of names and attitudes..
Originally a sought by the wizarding world for relocation after Tadrick Oliver Urquart had attempted to murder his entire family after being disowned when his affair with squib house caretaker came to light. Following the botched assassination attempt he was faced with a grievous choice. Life forever more spent in confinement and a fate worse than death or banishment.
Naturally he accepted the choice of a new start, and started fresh in the promise of a new world. Sadly life in a new world is plagued with its own set of problems. The indigenous peoples of the new world were not fond of settlers. The natives seemed to have a fear of the single settler that could do the unexplainable, with a twitch of a wand.
He was skilled with charms and protection spells, however in this new world, all the things one would use for potions was much more difficult to obtain, there was no resource to purchase it from, in the wilds you would have to find it, this proved difficult for one that had never in his life felt the urgent need to work.
This would prove detrimental when he later broke his wand, without an ability to replace or mend his wand Tadrick Oliver Corey fell into the civilities of a muggle existence he later found had children and his name and blood continued through the children he brought forth into the world.
His son touched with the same magical bond of their father proved exceptional, the turned out to be prosperous land owners as their land was protected by unseen magic things just seemed to turned out for those of the Corey family.. However not all threats are those one can see unfortunately for the Corey’s some threats come from the same greed that saw their name sake sent to the new world in the first place.
Settled in Salem, Massachusetts the new generation of Corey’s came face to face with a new and dangerous enemy.. One that would prove more deadly than any natural disasters, as nothing could prove more costly than the jealous conceited of man.
Giles Corey The second Son of the Tadrick was accused of witchcraft, with no education on his magical ability he fell easy victim to the Salem Witch Trials. However with his and his wife’s demise it prompted the ministries involvement to start the education of those in other areas. With Giles son a young man he worked along ministry officials to bring forth the first schools for magic to the United States.
The Corey’s remained among western world wizarding communities respected and noted families they have produced many western branch ministry officials, educators, political adviser to presidents, and have held diplomat status in the wizarding world. Their political ties is what has brought them back to Scotland. During the Second Wizarding world Augustine’s Grand Father Augustus was attempting like many diplomats and ministry officials to restore ministry control and power. His son a noted Auror was on the grounds of Hogwarts when it fell under attack. He fell victim to a curse he spent the following 6 years a resident of St. Mugo’s receiving a care for a curse that left him believing that his skin was paper thin. Not being able to undo that particular curse, the healers were able to modify his mind so that he doesn't experience stress or worry when concerning his body. He can lead a somewhat normal life but has no concept of pain to himself, and has since given up his work as an Auror.. In 2014 they gave birth do only child. The birthright of that child has always been in question because of condition of the father made conception of said child practically impossible. In 2025 Augustine Avonleigh Corey was sorted into Hufflepuff.
In the past year Auggie’s mother has left her father, which happened to only breath life into the rumors of her illegitimate child, and moved in with a wizard from the Ministry who happens to be named Arthur Urquart the fourth. Currently in the midst of her sixth year Augustine is living life pretty casually as a Hufflepuff, she flies below the radar of much attention as her reclusive personality allows. She has found friends but not true acceptance amoung the wizarding elite as she is considered not only new blood as her family roots are predominately in the United States, plus their are some of the wizarding world who know all too well where the Good Corey Name stems from. However currently there are only a select few who would be snide enough to rub her face in it. As her personal ancestor’s story has come full circle we will see where in the light of the moon that leaves Augustine.
Personality
Auggie is extremely adaptive, she has been taught to think with the mind of a politician. Meaning, she is probably one of the most skilled liar’s you will ever have the misfortune of meeting. She lies so well she can convenience herself. Auggie has a very strong sense of right and wrong, her world consists of polar difference either things are black or white, or write or wrong in her world there is no shades of gray. Unless it serves her purpose for one to be. She has a tendency to be exceedingly judgmental and with an elevated sense of self she is one to broadcast her views as if they are foundational facts. She in classic Hufflepuff character is loyal to a fault, she is hard working, and in her mind fair minded.. The flip side of these rare creatures she might be patient with people exhibiting kindness like all badgers she can be a vicious beast when she feels cornered. She can haul insults, and be really defensive of those she feels needs protecting.. If she finds you picking on a person she claims as her own it is the mentality of a pack. You pick on one you pick on us all.
